Bought a Toshiba SD-3960 couple of months ago, and I must say the picture quality is outstanding ;)

Too bad they didn't review the Samsung that Best Buy sells for $59 (forget the model). I liked it much better than the Toshiba. I also notice that Pioneer and Onkyo were for some reason not included....

May be they couldn't find a Pioneer or Onkyo DVD player that was under $200 since only budget players were allowed in this particular shootout :)

What made Samsung DVD player a better player?

And that's at Crutchfield where prices are higher than normal and selection is limited.

As far as the Samsung, it had a slightly richer picture quality but it's so close it's not worth aruging. However the Samsung handled DVD-R and CD-R better than the Toshiba which was the most important thing to me since I was getting a player for my parents and I would be burning movies for them to watch.
