Linkin' Park is coming to town. I was suprised to see that the venue that they are playing is the Air Canada Centre (home of the Toronto Maple Leafs and my beloved Toronto Rock Lacrosse team).

For concerts, the ACC has a couple of different set ups so it can accomodate both small and large crowds. Linkin' Park is set up for the large crowd. A sell-out would be just under 20,000 tickets. I didn't think that they were that popular.

That sounds pretty big for them. Maybe they are that popular, not sure why. They have a few catchy tunes but they seem to be a little lacking in the talent department. They will most likely fade away soon. The same sound gets boring after a album or two. Dude can sing though!

Hi, FA.

Linkin' Park are very popular in TO.

Many of my students listen to them, as do I.

Indeed, they are one of the very few bands that I enjoy who imho successfully mix Rock with Rap.

If you don't have any of their music and would like to try them, please lmk.

Cheers,
Bill

Save your dough and buy the Dream Theatre dvd or get a ticket for The Musical Box concerts next year in Montreal or Toronto.

I wasn't planning on attending....I was just curious.

I did, however, just buy tickets to see Nickelback in February. Mostly I wanted to see Three Days Grace who is opening for them.

And....only four more sleeps until Bowie on Friday night (yes, after my long rant on pre-sales, I gave in and bought tickets anyway. Long story on how I got good seats. I'll post separately, if anyone cares).

Aren't Nickelback Canadian guys?

What is Rush up these days?

Any talk in Canada about them anymore?

What about Saga?

Bowie? Who is in his band anymore?

Probably will be a good gig tho.

Nickelback takes some grief from some people but I really like there stuff. They put out really good albums, start to finish which is rare these days. They also put on a good show.

Yes. They are. Don't know where they're from but they are Canucks. As are Three Days Grace.

What is Rush up these days?

Rush just put out a new DVD of the last show from their 2002 tour. Don't you pay attention to what's going on around here?

Any talk in Canada about them anymore?

No. Canadians hate Rush. :p

What about Saga?

I don't know. I last saw Saga at a small club about six years ago. They were amazing. They never did as well on home soil as they did overseas.

Bowie? Who is in his band anymore?

Again, I don't know. He always seems to travel with a good band, so I have faith that it'll be a good show. Look for my review over the weekend.
