I'm wanting to buy a sub for my HT system.
I have:
Yamaha 1300 receiver
B&W 602S3 mains
B&W center
Polk audio rears(soon to be replace with B&W 601's)
My room is in the basement,carpet wall to wall
Room size is 20X15 with two small windows with drapes.
Watch only movies with this system, want bass that i can FEEL!!
Have about $800 to spend.

Sound & Vision Sep 2003 reviewed 10 subs bracketing your price range. You may also want to consider, seriously, the SVS subs.

SVS 25-31PC+ or the HSU VTF-3 MKII are good and within your budget. Locally, either the Paradigm PW-2100 or 2200 will work well. Other options include the used and DIY markets.

I saw someone on Audiogon selling a new sunfire tru sub, the 10" model, for $800 just a few days ago. I have not baught from there. But that is a good buy if there is no prob.. It isn't a bad sub at all for that kind of cash. I think normally they sell for about twice that.
Just a thought.
