I have 2 15" 3 way marantz floor speakers, and would like to use the woofers for subs. I am thinking of using thier original boxes w/ the other speakers in it. Now, can I just hook up pe.coms 250watt sub amps to each? Run a RCA splitter off sub out to both? Any 15" cabinets to consider under $100 each for sub use? Also, Can 1 sub in a 2 sub setup be tuned different so one is a dedicated LF(50hz>) and the other the amps xover(80hz<) will handle? Does it sound accurate? Thank you in advance!

First off they won't work very well as subs, but you can try. Are you talking about getting two plate amps for both cabinets or one plate amp for both cabinets?

oops never mind I didnt read your post well enough. Ok tell me the volume in cubic feet the Marantz boxes are and if they are ported or not. If they are sealed and around 3 cubic feet, you could get a Dayton 15" Quatro and the 250 watt amp, and you got bass galore.

there about 2'w x 3'h x 1.5'd give or take 6" on w, h. rough estimate. these 15" are 250watt RMS. Is there 15" blank cabinets besides car boxes? They are sealed cabinets.

Yeah there are blank cabinets. Partsexpress.com has a 3 cubic foot sealed box for $120, and a nicer one for around $200. Their plate amp is around $130. And the Dayton 15" Quatro is around $85. You could build one kickass sub with these components I just listed. All can be found at partsexpress.com. If you want a sub that will perform just slightly better you could go for the Dayton 15" DVC. The cabinets you have right now probably aren't braced enough for these subs, and are a little too big.

I think I will sell them and get 2 diy 10" kits. Can I do better for $700? Thanks for your help.

Yeah you can. Just get the 15" Titanic Kit. It will go louder and lower than two 10" kits.

Im going with a Rava. If its not enough depth Im going to get 2. I cant see that it wont be satisfactory. Thx this_guy
