Living in a busy area, I’ve been hearing a lot of traffic noise through my windows, and it’s starting to get on my nerves. I’m curious if window film can help with noise reduction or if it’s only for heat and UV protection. Has anyone tried using windowfilm to make their home quieter?

I was skeptical too but found out there are specific soundproofing window films that add a small layer of insulation to reduce noise. I installed one after checking the options on windowfilm (https://applyityourself.com), and while it didn’t make my apartment completely silent, it definitely softened the traffic sounds, especially at night. Installation was similar to regular film, so it was easy enough to do myself. Combined with good seals and curtains, it can improve your home’s quietness noticeably.

I live near a busy road too, and even small changes that reduce noise are welcome. I hadn’t thought about window film as a noise solution, but it sounds worth trying.
