...remember on election day!
Back in the Fifties, a fellow by the name of Ken Nordine recorded a whole bunch of short audio things he called "word jazz". You can still find his stuff, just type his name into a search engine - easy - then you can "stare with your ears...". Anyway, he did this piece titled "Smerd", which consisted of a whistle-stop speech by a hack politician. Now that was nearly half a century ago, but I heard Kerry speak for the first time on the local NPR station the other morning, and (damn!) he sounded just like SMERD!!! What are the chances???
It's weird. On another word jazz story, titled "The Vidiot", a man is checking out what is on the TV (remember this was done in the Fifties). He says:
"It's a concert...there's a young musician on the stage...he's got a guitar...and he's...he's all hair..."
Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
