Just saw this on cable -- surprisingly good film!

Backtrack a little bit -- I got the soundtrack because it's done by someone I'm fond of, David Thrussell. Watched the movie and was slowly drawn in. It's a robbers-and-robbers story, in which you root for bad guys, and there are many twists and turns in the plot. Not high budget, certainly not going to make anyone's "demo DVD" list, but great fun if you're up for a British independent film with a little something different.

There's some gratuitous sex and nudity which I normally don't mind, except some of it was obviously gratuitous.

Extremely low budget.

Okay, now, why did I start this thread? Did anyone else see this movie? Why is it called "The Hard Word"? I never did figure that out.

Warning: this thread may turn into a spoilers thread. Especially if someone answers my question.

Brit, from the sounds of it. I have no idea if you'd know any of the names, I certainly didn't. Written and directed by Scott Roberts. Stars Guy Pearce as Dale, Rachel Griffiths as Carol, and Robert Taylor as Frank -- he looked kind of familiar, I may have seen him before. Rachel/Carol looked familiar only because I used to have a boss that looked like her.

Here's the IMDB page (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280490/).

Apparently this is the home page (http://www.thehardwordmovie.com/), but it isn't working right now. It was released by Lions Gate Films (http://www.lionsgatefilms.com/dnm/profile.html?pid=IN-S-00132) (yes, that's right, the same company that released Fahrenheit 9/11).
