I bought a new Sub and was wondering if the little legs it sits on has any effect on it's sound or performance.

They are unfortunately made of very cheesy silver plastic that sort of wrap themselves around the underside of the sub.

Would removing them be a problem?

Also it has a L and R input but only one of them need to be connected to the reciever via a RCA cable or something similar right?

only one RCA needs to be plugged in but i use a splitter so that i can have both in use when i did this i had to turn the amp on my sub way down to keep the same volume levels. i had the amp set at about 12 with only one RCA plug in use and with using both i had to turn it down under 10 o'clock position. so basically you don't need it but it helps so that you don't have to run the amp as hard IMO.
