Hi

I have a Fatman itube 202 valve amp. I love the sound, but it's too unreliable. It's already been repaired 3 times and I don't want to keep throwing good money after bad.

I'm using a Cyrus 5 for now, which has a clean and clear sound, but I miss the warmth and beauty of the valves. I also tried a Yamaha AS500, but I hated it.

Does anybody know if there's a reliable solid state amp that has the sonic characteristics of a valve amp? Budget £500. Alternatively, someone who can do a once-and-for-all repair on valve amps near Leeds.

System: Marantz NA7004 front end, Q Acoustics 2050i floorstanders.
