Damn Sharks!

Living in San Jose, I'm not a big hockey fan. But I pay attention to the Sharks since they're the local team. Pretty disappointing that they were heavily favored and couldn't win a home game in this series. Very talented team with good players, and couldn't pull it off. Congrats to the Flames though - they showed heart and beat a team that they weren't supposed to be able to beat. You gotta love that. Hopefully they can carry that all the way.

Seems to happen all the time in hockey where a lower tier team knocks off someone seeded #1-4. Just think of the Ducks last year when they knocked out both the Wings and the Stars. Even with the Sharks, think back to their third season when they knocked out the
heavily favored Red Wings (I think they were the #1 seed) in the first round.

Too bad the Sharks couldn't finish. Would've been fun to see San Jose go cup crazy the way that L.A. did when the Kings made it into the finals.

Just from what I saw, I think the Flames simply played smarter. Of course, it's probably easy to play smart when the Flames got former Sharks coach Daryl Sutter at the helm.
