View Full Version : ground loop Question
I connected my computer to my receiver through a spdif coax connection. They are about 30 feet apart and there is some humming when they are connected on evey receiver output. I am pretty sure it is a ground loop, but have not found any way to correct the problem since I am using a digital coax. I was wondering if any1 has any tips/suggestions. Moving the computer closer so they are on the same ground is not an option.
Thanks!

This is where optical cables might come in handy.
what about a di box which usualy has a ground lift switch .clears the hum on a laptop[or run it from battery power] the laptop not the desktop!! :)

try a ground loop isolator such as RS 270-054 for $15.99
