Sometimes, the best way to choose between competitive receiver models is to go with the one whose features you most desire. Failing that: Yamaha rules!!

I've been using Yamaha receivers for the past 8 years. Although both the Yamaha and the Onkyo have all the Dolby Digial EX, THX Select, DTS ES, etc.. etc.. I'd definitely go for the Yamaha. IMHO, it has a much stronger amplifier section, not just in quantity, but primarily in terms of quality. Also, I find the room calibration feature pretty useful. Hope that helps. Good luck!

? Good luck deciding. Both look good. The Onkyo you can hook up to internet radio. Why not purchase both and return the one you don't like.
