i was wanting to get the ps-1000 and didn't know if it would be worth the extra money to get the v4 it's like 70 dollars more. or if i should try to get the dealer to really come down in price on the v3. the v3 is like 130 watts and the v4 is like 200 watts other than that they are pretty much the same i think. any advice would be great. i'm leaning towards the v3 and trying to get the dealer to give me a deal. thanks again.

I own the PS-1000 v3. It's a bandpass design which basically means it is very loud and clean at 1 frequency and that's about it. It's sloppy everywhere else. If all you're using it for is home theater and you have left and right speakers that go low enough as it is for music then I'd say go ahead with the PS-1000. However if you want a sub that's tight and goes low avoid the PS-1000. There's a bunch of other subs that are not only cheaper but sound way better. Here's a few links.......

i got the floor model of the v3 for $380 US and am very happy with it. i think i got a good deal since it was the last v3 in town and i would of had to go with the $577 US v4( i don't like buying online or without listening) but i'm happy and i guess that's all that matters.

The v2 is 130 watts, v3 175 watts, and the v4 is 200 watts. The v4 goes down to 22 hz -3db and the v3 goes down to 24 hz -3db. I was a previous owner of the v3 and I liked the output but thats it. You can not cross it over above 80 hz because of its design it is a one note sub. 60 hz cossover would be optimal for the ps-1000. You will love the output for the first while but after the novelty wears off you will realize that you want more then just a one note sub the pounds pretty hard. Stay away from the ps-1000 and the ps-1200 unless you can cross over your mains at 60 hz and up and the ps-1000/1200 60 hz on down. You should consider the pdr-12 v4 or the pw-2100. Both will pound for HT and both will be musical for your tunes.
