Hey,

I need to change the resistors on the pins of the powertubes in my vintage guitar amp. Somewhere down the line, I think I remember someone saying don't use the Carbon Composition resistors on the power tubes. Use the Carbon Film resistors instead. Does anyone have experience with this? They are the 470 ohm 1Watt resistors.

Thanks,

Gh

Since this is a vintage amp it’s unlikely the resistors
that originally came with it are carbon film. However
carbon film would be a step up .
Either should be ok provided they are replaced with ones having
adequate wattage. If you want more info here's a good article.

Hope this helps.
