Here's 10 suggestions...

Handsome Family: any, mostly listening to the most recent, Singing Bones these days
Slightly morbid alt-country gothic folk.

David Johansen and the Harry Smiths: self-titled or Shaker
Covers of old folk blues tunes, well played and recorded.

Iron and Wine: any, but their latest is getting the most play.
Sparse indie folk.

Muddy Waters: Folk Singer
Incredible folk blues from a legend.

Nirvana: Unplugged
Heart felt and beautiful.

Willie Nelson: Stardust
Countrified versions of pop standards.

Watson Family
Bluegrass masterpieces abound on this self-titled compilation.

Robert Johnson: ?
Can't remember the title of this one, but really any Robert Johnson would do.

Skip James: The Complete Early recordings
If you like Robert Johnson and want some more old time blues, this is a really interesting one from the early 30s, Skip with his guitar and occasionally on the piano.

Bob Dylan: Nashville Skyline
Includes a duet with the Man in Black himself.
