...with 5 of my friends, and we paid extra for 'VIP' passes. Included in the package was their latest CD named 'Hitch', early entry into the venue (7:00 instead of 8:00), along with a short acoustic set (2 songs) and some chatting with the band.

They has some sofas and chairs set up for us, but there were a lot of VIPs in the room, so many of us just sat on the floor and I was close enough to Ritzy to touch her legs...not that I would do that. Ha!

They also said they would take a picture of 'your group' with the band, so I was thinking it would be the 6 of us with the band, but nooooooo. It was with everyone in the place and taken on an iPhone.

Let's just say the VIP package was nice, but for $67.00, I'm not sure I'd do it again. I think the standard ticket was about $25.00,

The show was pretty awesome and even the opener was good, but not my style. Everything Everything came out in matching orange jacket/shirt sort of things. Nicely coifed hair on these lads from the UK. They know what they're doing, but it was way too much synth for me. There were a number of younger fans there to see this band and not The Joy Formidable. They got right up front and sang along with every tune. Actually, they were screaming the lyrics while making hand gestures toward the band and jumping around like crazy people.

I decided to move toward the back of the crowded room (Underground Arts in Philly) and enjoyed myself as I wasn't in the mood to be bumped and shoved half the fokin night.

Wow. All reasons why I don't go to live shows anymore.

Thanks for the review, though. ;)

This particular venue is SRO. I like venues with seats. Assigned seats. Back in the day I didn't give a shi<a>t.
