The infamous horro film diretor Wes Craven was 76 when he died last week. But he left us a pretty good collection of films he directed in scary and slasher genre.
Here is list of some his better known films:
Last House On the Left
Scream (I,II, III, IV)
Red Eye
The Hills Have Eyes (I and II)
The Last House on the Left
Nightmare on Elm Street
The People Under the Stairs
The Serpent and the Rainbow
So it beg the question as which movie would you consider his best film.
I would say Scream (1996) probably is his best film as director. This was one few horror film that me jump from my seat, especially during opening scene.

Special nod also have to be given to his 1984 film Nightmare on Elm Street. The character Freddy Kreuger is an cultural icon in horror film genra.
