Greetings,
I'm new here and have a question. I have a VPI Scout with the JMW 9 memorial arm. Preamp is a VTL 5.5 and power amp is a B&K 200 wpc SS amp. My current cartridge a BPS EVO III homc was damaged, I am thinking of replacing it with a BPS EVO III lomc. Just wondering if the lomc is much of an improvement over the homc.
Thank you Gary

Here is a review of the cartridge you are considering and comparing it to others-

I personally own a Nagaoka MP-200 and in the Sumiko's price range, you may want to consider the MP-300 which was rated better than the Sumiko in the above link.
Here is a great buy on the MP-300

From what I understand the LOMC generally is better at inner detail retrieval. My guess though if your phono stage isn't capable of LOMC the expense of upgrading may not be worth it.

I would like to thank you for the reply and suggestions. My VTL 5.5 is capable of lomc so no worries there. I did order the Sumiko BPS EVO III lomc and expect it in a couple of weeks. I will post my opinion after the cartridge has several hours on.
Thanks again G
