Next week, I am taking my Thorens TT apart so that a partner that I work with can make a new box for my TT. He does wood working on the side and a few years ago bought a train car load of Cocobolo wood ($30K worth at the time but double the cost now). Cocobolo is one of the top 5 most dense and hardest woods in the world.

The bottom of the box will be Baltic Ash. And the Cocobolo will have a high gloss lacquer finish. I am going to line the inside with Dynamat or Gmat and place Sorbothane feet on the bottom.
