Phone plug. Three conductor versions are called Tip Ring Sleeve.

that type of connection is called a "spring terminal" and yes they have sub'woofers with this type of connection. make sure there is actually a sub-woofer output though if there is not then the unit most likely doesnt have the power to push it.. if it does then just about any sub will work.

That is actually a standard 1/4" phone plug. Similar to a TRS, but not exactly the same. Tip Ring & Sleeve (TRS) is designed for low level signal and balanced type format or what's referred to as "Common Mode Rejection" signal format.

In some applications they can be used as interchangeable.

Pictured: Standard 1/4" phone plug on the left and 1/4" TRS plug on the right.
