Another Sandler/Barrymore romantic comedy.

I'm not normally a fan of the Godzilla/King Kong type films, but I saw a trailer for the new Godzilla and it hooked me. It actually looks pretty good.

Of course the Phillip Seymour Hoffman film is a no brainer. I'm a huge fan and still hurt at the thought that this is the last film we'll ever see with him. :(

The gf forced me to see Spider Man 2 in 3D on Sunday and my eyes are still trying to adjust themselves back to normal. I was more concerned with the fact that i was strapped in a theater on a sunny Sunday afternoon than the movie plot itself but the 3D effects really wreaked havoc on my eyes.

For the first 30 minutes everything looked like cardboard cutouts placed on different planes with no depth to them and I could feel my eyes constantly trying to refocus. After 40 minutes or so I thought my eyes had somewhat adjusted but all yesterday and into this morning my eyes feel puffy and really tired. Luckily no headaches just the puffiness feeling and some occasional blurriness.

The 3D movies I saw as a kid (Jaws 3, Friday the 13th 3, etc...) which used the red /green glasses never gave me this problem. Anyone else have issues with 3D nowadays?

Jolie's character looks great as Maleficent. Good casting job.

I intend to avoid the 3D versions of movies. The last one I say was the first Hobbit flick: I had a raging headache for the first 40 minutes, though after that it eased off.

My first experience with 3D as positive; that was Avatar. Since then it's been a disappointment or worse. I went with wife & daughter to see the second Hobbit, but insisted on the non-3D version.

In the interest of full disclosure! I'm an old guy who has come to endure eye strain on a regular basis. Younger people might have less of a problem. Also, there are different 3D technologies and some might work better than others.

Thanks for sharing your experiences Feanor. I think I'll avoid them in the future as well. Sorry for throwing the thread sort of off topic!

The new Godzill movie beg the question as was this movie made for western audience, or for eastern/Japan market. If it is for western market, expect a side romance plot too :D
