Burt got his career start on TV including in Gunsmoke, and although he had alot of rough edges acting wise, he came to his own (and with mustach) in comedy roles in movies. These films are some of his best.
Ranked by release date:
Deliverance (1972): One of his major dramatic role that brought him stardom.

The Longest Yard (1974): Don't care too much for sport movies, but in this movie Burt show his nacks for comedy.

The Cannonball Run (1981): With bunch of TV and film stars including Roger Moore, this film was very fun to watch.

Sharky's Machine (1981): Although the story was lackluster, the scenes in the police head quarter make this movie enjoyable.

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982): With a cast such as Jim Nabors, Charles Durning, Dom DeLuise and Dolly Parton, this is one of funniest musical comedy.

Switching Channels (1988): A remake of the film Front Page, this film is very under rated. Burt performance hold the whole movie together.

Breaking In (1989): A very smart movie with Burt as old timer thief.
