Alot of people check their phone, even when it’s not ringing or buzzing. It’s OK. Lots of other people do.

In fact, people check their phones 150 times a day, according to Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers’s annual Internet Trends report. The report found people check their phones an average of 23 times a day for messaging, 22 times for a voice call and 18 times to get the time.

So what else are people doing with their phones? Taking photos and sharing them as more than 500 million photos are shared every day, the report said.

I believe it. All day I see people with their noses buried in their phones. Many times they also have headphones in at the same time. Which leads me to a strange observation.

Sometimes I'll see a couple walking down the street. They are holding hands but they both have earbuds in. Or they are on the bus sitting next to each other, holding hands, and they're using their free hand to play with their phones. Sometimes with earbuds in as well.

Whatever happened to having a conversation? They probably are having a conversation, though. They are texting each other while holding hands and listening to music.
