Hi everyone,

I have been shopping for amps for about 8 months now. I plan on driving a pair of Paradigm Signature S4's. I was almost decided on an Musical Fidelity A308cr, but I am going to be buying a house soon and I think I will have to quell my desire for this amp. I have been looking around and I think that the Musical Fidelity A3.2cr is the best bet.

Do you guys/gals think that this amp will be sufficient to drive these speakers in a medium sized room to my required tastes (loud), or should I hold out for the A308cr?

The A3.2 is much cheaper (about half) than the A308cr and both sound absolutly wonderful to my ear. There is, however, a large power difference between the 2.

Opinions are more than welcome.

Here is the link to the amp and speakers respectivly:

Cheers,

I use a Musical Fidelity A3cr to drive my maggies, and it's plenty powerful. It's also one of the best sounding amps I've ever used. I've never run out of power yet, as it would be just too loud in my room. Your speakers will not require any more power than this amp can produce.

Thanks for the input, Geoffcin, I really appreciate it. I feel a lot more confident about purchasing this amp now. The A308 would probably be overkill especially considering the price.

Thanks again,

Waxx

The A308 is a beast, I would consider it if I had Magnepan 20.1's or another speaker that could benefit from the extra power.

As it is I would be careful if I were you; The MF3.2cr can deliver enourmous transiant power at volume. While I don't think your speakers will mind, your HEARING could be damaged!

Good luck with your new equipment!
