Hi Guys, I'm looking for a new digital coax 75ohm cable to use between my CD player and my DAC. Need it to be 1.0m in length. I'm using an Audioquest VDM2 at the moment. Looking to spend around $200 to $300. I tried a Transparent Premium and didn't notice any difference. Thanks, Jack

a few years back i splurged on a $200 Stereovox XV2 75ohm coax cable. compared to a $25 generic coax and a $15 toslink, i found absolutely zero difference in sound between all three. i still have the Stereovox XV2 in use, but i've chalked it up to a learning experience.

I would think that Audioquest would make a decent digital cable. I have not done a lot of one on one comparing of coaxial digital cables but I have to admit I have not heard any difference between good cables, for instance, i was using a long Transparent between transport and my Audio Note DAC, when I switched to a shorter Zu I couldn't hear any difference. Unless the Audioquest is causing an issue you are probably better off spending that money in another area.

You might be right Mr. P, I was just getting the itch to try something new. I should save my money, cause Bryston has a USB converter coming out shortly that will take my high rez files up to their highest resolution, and I'm looking forward to checking it out.

I use Bluejean cables digital coax, well made and inexpensive. I have yet to hear a difference between digital coax cables at short distances. Good choice to save your money.

I remember reading a digital cable shootout in one of the audio mags recently and the reviewer started out with an inexpensive Belkin cable and the next three after that didn't best the Belkin. I can't remember what they were, but they went up in price each time from the $15 Belkin. The last cable was a Wireworld Platinum at around $800 and that finally bested the Belkin.

I am using a 1m Sonic Horizon digital coax cable but hear no difference between it and a 1m cheapy Acoustic Research cable I also have.

Hi Jack, you may want to consider Signal Cable. I happen to have the digital coax with the Eichmann's and I think this is a great cable overall. The reason I use the Blue Marble Audio cable instead of the Signal Cable is I get some sparkle on the top end with the BMA that I don't get with the Signal Cable. However, I find the S.C. to best the BMA cable in all other areas including purchase price.

I've been using a yellow tipped 75 ohm video cable and it sounds perfect as far as I can tell.
