I'm looking for a pair of over-ear closed back headphones that produce a alot of bass while keeping it defined and clear. I dont want the bass interfering with any of the other frequencies either. I also want a comfortable pair of headphones as well. My price range lies between $100-$200. Two pairs of headphones that caught my eye were the Numark Electrowave Premium Isolation DJ Headphones and the Denon DN-HP1000 DJ Headphones. Which one of these 2 would meet my requirements the most?

I am not familiar with the models you listed but your requirements describe Sennheiser, except for the closed back.

I'd give this site/link a look. Great site for information and good service for purchases as well. I've bought most of my headphones from them.

Best Full Size Headphones - 2011 Gear Guide | HeadRoom Audio (http://www.headphone.com/selection-guide/full-size-headphones.php?price=200)

You can click into charts and graphs and get a great idea of the bass response and compare up to 4 sets of cans on the same graph. Give it a try.

I hope you're still looking for one until now, LOL

I suggest you buy Bose QC-15 :)

There are so many sets out there which have heavy bass. Alas, often at the expense of all the other frequencies. The trick is to manufacture headphones which emphasize lower frequencies without compromising the clarity and balance of the rest of the sound spectrum.
Here is a good start for your search

i isolated some key attributes related to your query, but you can fine tune the preferences and add more attributes.

Grado SR 80 - Grado SR 80 - Grado Sr 80. Closed ear - great sound - great bass response - sold for about $100 when I last bought a pair. Only problem is a somewhat delicate straight cord that if pulled can cause you to lose a channel. I just replace mine with a coiled cord. Also Sony MDR 7505 series - any last number - they are audio engineer reference headphones so the sound is near perfection throughout - not as bassy as the Grado's - I've had one pair for so long I don't remember when I got it.

Grado's are not closed ear/back phones.

I would say without a doubt the Audio Technica ATH-M50's would be the way to go in that price class. Closed back design, tight clean bass that goes very low, bass does not muddy up the mids and highs, easy to drive, and are in your price range. I have Grado's as well but they are more for that live music accurate sound and they are open back phones

I recommend the Sony MDR XB950. It has a nice bass and is not pricey also.
