So....... my idea of audiophile, is way below your audiophile. But hey, here in the trailor park, I'm the audiophile-man. (ummmm. As soon as I told all the ladies that I'm an audiophile, they started keeping all there kids away from me. Kind of strange??)
But, anyways, please excuse my low end question.
I wanted another set of in-wall speakers and a set of outdoor speakers (needed some back ground music to hide all the dogs barking and the guys shooting guns in the vacent lot).
So, I ran into two sets of speakers from OSD, that were half price. These are:
-- (OSD RS690, got these for $80): RS690 Reference 6.5" Rock Speakers Pair (HF6) (http://www.outdoorspeakerdepot.com/osr50larospp.html)
-- (OSD ICE850, got these for $90):ICE850 Ceiling Speaker 8" Kevlar Woofer Pair (http://www.outdoorspeakerdepot.com/ickepa8hothc.html)
Anyone ever try these out? Hopefully, I didn't waist my money. I'll make sure to let you guys know what they sound like.
Best Regards,
Stan

So, for the in-wall speakers, not sure. But they are on there way back to Amazon. For the blow by blow details, please read: http://forums.audioreview.com/speakers/true-high-end-wireless-speaker-system-38557.html
For the rock speakers. I had low expectations for them. Just wanted some nice sound pumped into the back yard. We'll, they were well below my expectations. I did only try them inside--and tehy seemed to sounded better when I cranked them up. But, my pair of Bose 201 Series IV blew them away. (which the 201's are not close to being audiophile).
The RS690's had lousy highs, limited mids, and almost no bass. Besides that, they were assume. I have no idea why Amazon has so many good reviews of OSD Rock speakers. Further, many of the people mentioned what they were driving them with. Things like:
-- Marsh amp with 200 wpc
-- Yamaha Aventage receiver
-- etc.
So, these people must have some clue of what sounds good.
Only thing that ight explain it, is that I tried them out inside. Maybe, when they are cranked up outside, they sound better?
I might return these as well.
Best Regards,
Stan

Larry: Thanks.
What do you think of the Klispch KHO-7's?
KHO - 7 Outdoor Speaker | Klipsch (http://www.klipsch.com/kho-7-outdoor-speaker)
Edit: Larry, I just heard them at best-buy. Better then the OSD's, but I still don't like them.
So, I do this every-time I buy audio stuff. I start off telling myself, "I'm no so picky", then after 6 months I'm buying some $1,000+ dollar piece of equipment.....
Thanks,
Stan

Hills, Maybe you'll want to try out these: Amazon.com: NXG Technology 6.5" 100-Watt Sedona Red 2-Way Dual Voice Coil Weather-Resistant Rock Speaker: Electronics (http://www.amazon.com/NXG-Technology-100-Watt-Weather-Resistant-Speaker/dp/B003E3DN5O/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1355540936&sr=1-1&keywords=nxg+rock)
There bi-tweeters, so you can plug L/R into one speaker. Or, NXG's tech-support said that you can only use one channel coming out of the speaker. For 50 bucks, you can give it a try. NXG is not a well known brancd, but installers seem to like um. Can anyone else comment?
Best Rwgards,
Stan
