Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo has occupied top billing in the British Film Institute magazine Sight & Sound's "greatest film...." poll done once-a-decade by international critics since 1962. 2012 poll sample of 846 film critics, academics, distributors, writers and programmers from all corners of the globe was the biggest ever. They voted for 2,045 movie titles overall.

Here are 10 films that occupy the top positions.

I've seen two of those. The Searchers and 2001 and I've heard of four of the them. Well it is a Brit publication, so it's bound to be a little different.

This poll does have alot of international flavor. I am surprise that no movies past 1968 made the list, one good example being The Godfather or Star Wars movies. Also where is Seven Samurai which I thought every critics loved...and me too :)

Another Japanese film that always seems to make ever Top-10 list is missing, Ran.

I like Vertigo, but it's not even in my fave top five Hitchcock films (there's a thread for ya Smokes).

Citizen Kane deserves its praise and place on top-10 lists.
