Vizio has just announced the launch of the Co-Star Stream Player with Google TV platform in order to turn any HDTV into a smart TV. VIZIO Co-Star offers the distinct advantage of connecting to a cable or satellite box. Coupled with picture-in-picture technology, viewers can enjoy live TV along with the web, apps, OnLive cloud gaming, and other streaming entertainment without interrupting what they’re already watching.

The Co-Star is a 4.2-inch square device featuring one HDMI out, one HDMI in, one USB 2.0 slot, and an Ethernet port, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. Co-Star also comes with a dual-sided remote. One side features a TV remote including one-touch buttons for Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, and M-Go. The reverse side features a full QWERTY keyboard and gaming pads.

VIZIO Co-Star is the first stream player to offer video games on demand through the OnLive® Game Service. OnLive allows users to watch and play hundreds of top-tier video games directly from ‘the cloud’ via their VIZIO Co-Star.

It is available on Vizio web site for $99.
