That's amazing that Avatar isn't on that list and none of Time Magazines "Movies of the Decade"

I wonder if the mass murder in Aurora, CO opening night kept people away from Dark Knight Rises. I know I had one eye on the exit most of the time.

Wow, no LotR movies on that list? Nor Jurasic Park? And what kind of sick twisted world do we live in where there's POS movies like Transformers and Twilight movies ranking in the top-10? I wished they'd just list ticket sales instead of dollar value, because once upon a time $20 bought four tickets, not just one, a bag of popcorn and medium drink.

Although Avatar only made $77 million on its opening weekend which is surprising, it made up for it by being the top-grossing film of all time. I'm guessing the low openimg $ correspond to being played at 3-D theaters which have less numbers than regular theaters.

That is the same reason cheesy TV shows like American Idol, Dancing With Stars or The Bachelorette pull in so many viewers on prime time :)
