Yeah...all the time. To be convinced if you dont believe the hype, you need a microscope to look and see for yourself. You got a record cleaning machine?

I've been using the eraser for a couple of days and after resting the stylus on it you can see the crud collect in those tiny fibers. My Shure cart has a little brush and it cleans that as well.

No recording cleaning machine for me, as I do well to use the 30 year old Discwasher, D4 and Zerostat.

Magic Eraser as a stylus cleaner is good stuff. Even the missus uses it.

I can't get by without a fairly aggressive method of cleaning records, given some of the filthy ones I've brought home.

Sure. I glued a small square to the end of a fingernail file. I take one or two light taps followed by a stylus brush.

I always use the RCM, too.

Yep and the off label brands that Kroger and WalMart carry work just as well.

I bought a $2.00 pack of two which may last a lifetime. :-)

No need to go to the trouble of gluing a piece on a stick, just cut a thin section about two inches long and use that.

I cleaned the strobe dots on my Technics with the eraser and now they shine like new money.

I use one and have had no problems with it and it seems to do a fine job. I do make sure to give the needle a bit of a brush after using it though. I read someone somewhere mention it was a good idea to make sure you don't leave any of the abrasive fibers from the eraser on the needle to attack your records. Not entirely sure it is necessary but only takes a couple seconds and seems logical to me.

search the archives at in vinyl and there will be MUCH discussion to pore through.

it is the very best way to a pristinely clean stylus. just follow that cleaning with a brushing with a stylast type brush or a sc2 from DW to take off any detritus left behind.

just excellent and the least expensive.
