I have a Marantz 2245 and I'm looking for suggestions on speakers. I currently have a pair of Monitor Audio BR2 series and I'm pretty happy with them but can't help but think I'm not doing justice to the Marantz. I paid $400 for the receiver so, I'd like to keep things reasonable. I listen to a wide range of music on vinyl in a 12x14 room.

Thanks!

I'd take a look at the Paradigm Monitor series. They tend to be a little on the bright side which would match the warmness of the Marantz real well.

IMNSHO, JBL or mid-line AR speakers of the same vintage do magic with this line of receivers, particularly with vinyl of that era but, of course, your personal tastes have a lot to do with it.

I've used my old Marantz with Focal Cobalt 806S and JBL S-38 speakers in recent times. Both sound good to me. The Focal speakers are still on the Marantz, while the JBL have moved to the Adcom system in the bedroom. At one time, I was rockin some Cerwin-Vega D-3 with the Marantz, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend that approach for most people.
