The title is "Poll This". Editorial interpretations of the title are up to you. Here's the track list:

1 Espers Byss & Abyss 06:05
2 Bonnie "Prince" Billy You Will Miss Me When I Burn 04:08
3 Iron & Wine Free Until They Cut Me Down 04:34
4 Graham Parker (w/ Lucinda) Cruel Lips 04:00
5 Lambchop Steve McQueen 04:32
6 Over the Rhine the world can wait 05:45
7 The Frames Revelate 04:32
8 Ghost Piper 06:40
9 John Vanderslice Heated Pool and Bar 04:02
10 Willard Grant Conspiracy Soft Hand 05:39
11 Jolie Holland Alley Flowers 05:02
12 Mountain Goats Game Shows Touch Our Lives 03:48
13 Bonnie "Prince" Billy" Horses 03:44
14 Richard Buckner Loaded At The Wrong Door 03:30
15 The Band of Blacky Ranchette The Train Singer's Song 05:38
16 Espers Riding 04:09

I called the first test burn good, which is just about unheard of here. I can't do much better than this one- good, bad, or ignored.

A few usual suspects will be subjected to it automatically. All are welcome to PM interest.

I voted for #10 because I like the sound of their name, but the others don't seem to show up. What gives? Are you sure that you set up this freekin' poll right??!!

Hmmm, now that's a tasty looking confection. Could I try one of those? I'll have a rummage around to find something to trade.

Regards, chris.

Looks good to me. Very little overlap with my collection so I'm hoping I'll be seeing one soon ;)

If it's half as good as your '03 year-end comp you've got a winner on your hands! :D

NP: Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News

ps - best album title this year belongs to McLusky's upcoming The Difference Between You And Me Is I'm Not The One Who's On Fire

There's always a lot more good music than we all have ears to listen. And that's a good thing........

You know I want one of those. I got your year-end comp and it's mighty fine for the part I can listen to. Unfortunately, I can't get past song 7 on any of my players, so if you're feeling generous and have the time...

Thanks.
John

Yeah, you're missing some damn fine tunes if you can't get past seven. Howe Gelb and Neko Case get it going together on the next track! And a beautiful Tindersticks song later. Decemberists, Oldham, Alasdair Roberts, Richard Thompson, lots of good ones. He did another good recent comp with a bicycle and a bunch of skeletons on the cover. Not sure what that was about but it had a real nice Willard Grant Conspiracy song. I think tentoze has rapidly become the most comprolific of us all. Maybe even moreso than Sloshy! :)

For the record, that's Richard Buckner dueting with Neko; Howe plays piano and geetar........ ;)

And, Sloshy has it way all over me- that Tainted Life comp of his had me adding to my buy list some MORE, dang it.

Hehehe, guess I managed to mangle that one. But that's probably even more reason for Whooptee to get a replacement because I know he's a big Buckner fan. That is a nice song. Neko kind of steals the show whenever she sings, though. No matter who she's with. What a treasure. If there was ever a voice screaming for a covers album of old country standards......

And I wasn't making a judgement on whose comps were best between you and Sloshy because I totally enjoy you both, only who was the most prolific. Sloshy used to be, but it seems like you've been moving ahead lately. To the benefit of us all :)
