One of the classics of the 90s, hasn't really aged badly at all in my mind, just as good as ever. 1993 was a great year, kind of the time when the music started to get really good again. And this was one of the reasons why. It's melodic pop music at the core, but adventurous and far-reaching with a lot of interesting excursions along the way, nice vocals and harmonies, layered guitars and effects, and as a bonus it has solid production and pretty good sound too, which as you know was not a characteristic of most britpop. Fun on headphones too.

Edit: I was just checking around and there is a deluxe edition boxset for this thing now. Wow, 3-CD set, and it was a pretty long CD to begin with. Usually a waste in my experience, especially with the highly compressed and loud remastering that usually comes with it, but may have to check this out ... 1993 albums I remember (I remembered the albums but had to double-check the release dates):

Dinosaur Jr - Where You Been
Babes in Toyland - Painkillers (ep)
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
Belly - Starr
Radiohead - Pablo Honey
The Cranberries - Everybody Else . . .
Lenny Kravitz - Are You Gonna Go My Way
Porno for Pyros - s/t
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dreams
Cracker - Kerosene Hat
The Breeders - Last Splash
Nirvana - In Utero
The Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen
Stereo Lab released an EP and a full-length that I discovered later

Except for 2 or 3, I still listen to at least a couple of tracks from each on occasion. In fact, I listened to Doggystyle and Siamese Dream recently and tracks from others are on comps/playlists for the road.
