One of the classics of the 90s, hasn't really aged badly at all in my mind, just as good as ever. 1993 was a great year, kind of the time when the music started to get really good again. And this was one of the reasons why. It's melodic pop music at the core, but adventurous and far-reaching with a lot of interesting excursions along the way, nice vocals and harmonies, layered guitars and effects, and as a bonus it has solid production and pretty good sound too, which as you know was not a characteristic of most britpop. Fun on headphones too.
Edit: I was just checking around and there is a deluxe edition boxset for this thing now. Wow, 3-CD set, and it was a pretty long CD to begin with. Usually a waste in my experience, especially with the highly compressed and loud remastering that usually comes with it, but may have to check this out ... Maybe we could have a little series on the early 90s and start listing some of our favorites. Some other 1993 favorites that I still listen to ...

Tindersticks - Tindersticks I
Catherine Wheel - Chrome
Girls Against Boys - Venus Luxure No 1 Baby
Dead Can Dance - Into the Labyrinth
Morphine - Cure for Pain
Yo La Tengo - Painful
Lisa Germano - Happiness
Walkabouts - Satisfied Mind
Slowdive - Souvlaki
