During the Sirius XM Radio Inc. Q2 earnings call, CEO Mel Karmazin announced that they will be launching "Satellite Radio 2.0" in retail stores for the 2011 holiday season.
Version 2.0 will have even MORE programming, and you will be able to PAUSE and REWIND broadcasts! Just like every other aspect of the recorded-audio industry besides radio since the birth of the 8-track! SiriusXM 2.0 will also feature personalized music stations a la Pandora, as well as on-demand listening.
This new initiative isn't just for the retail channel though. The new Satellite Radio 2.0 radios will also roll out to new vehicles as soon as auto manufacturers are able to incorporate the technology into their production schedules-which will be around 2013.
