View Full Version : surround speaker wire questions.
I will be adding three surround speakers (surround right and left, surround back) . Do the speaker wires of the three rear speakers need to be the same length? The longest length will probably be about 30 feet. Will a 14 gauge speaker wire work for this length, or would a 12 gauge be better?
Thanks,
-ROJ

No, they don't have to be the same length. If you already have it, the 14 gauge will work fine but if you need to purchase it, I would rather use the 12 gauge, just for good luck. A little thicker can't hurt for a longish run.

As mark stated above. Instruments can measure the length differences, human ears have limits :)
