The Decemberists are performing the new album live right now, streaming on NPR. http://www.npr.org/2011/01/19/133026865/the-decemberists-the-king-is-dead-live-from-portland?utm_source=The+Decemberists&utm_campaign=9a42ac13a0-The_Decemberists_News_11_26_0911_26_2009&utm_medium=email

The stream started at 3:00EST, so I'm not sure how much longer it will be on for. It looks like they're being interviewed and discussing the album between songs.

I never really got into the Decemberists too much for whatever reason. I do have the new release however and I'm digging it. My first reaction is that that are out REMing anything REM has done the past 20 years, quite a good album.

DOH! $6.99 for the CD and $7.98 for shipping to Canada!

I think I'll just pay the $14.99 to buy it here. :rolleyes5:

It's Canadian for anglophones and Canadien (Canadienne in the feminine) for francophones. :) Unless you're talking about Montreal's hockey team...then it's always Canadiens (if you don't like the team, you could refer to them as Canadiennes, I suppose. But it only works if you're insulting them in writing).

I know. But sometimes it can be cheaper to order things from the US and pay for shipping than to buy them here. Especially when the dollars are par, like they are now. For example $6.99 for The Decemberists CD at Amazon.com vs. $14.99 for the same CD at Amazon.ca. Amazon.com is a total ripoff for shipping though. There's no way it costs $8 to mail a CD. :mad5:

You mean mail's not delivered by Mounties on horseback? (Is it redundant to say "Mounties on horseback"?)

LOL! You wacky Yankee! I guess it might be if I were in jail. But I'm a law abiding Canadienne, eh. :)
