Sad to report that the actor who made that quote famous in the Airplane movie has died. Leslie Nielsen was 84. He appeared in over one hundred films and 1,500 television programs over the span of his career. His most famous roles were in Airplane and NakedGun movies.

I loved almost every comedy he ever did and would love to explore his earlier works as well. The Naked Guns are my favorite comedies and I haven't found anybody who doesn't like at least some of his work. My favorite Leslie line is in Naked Gun 33 1/3. "I like my sex like my basketball; one on one and with as little dribbling as possible."

Another good one is in Naked Gun 2 1/2. "Jane, I wouldn't leave your apartment until they have had a chance to shampoo the carpets." (After Hector Savage explodes in the hallway when Frank shoves a hose in his mouth)

We have truly lost a legend.

Since we are going down the memory lane...

Also like the scene in first NakedGun movie where he get into [driving student] car with John Houseman as the driving instructor. It is hilarious how calm the instructor is and how he instruct the student driver to flip truck driver that almost hit them head on.

And ofcourse the bathroom scene with microphone :D

He was truly a brilliant actor and comedian. And appears to have been one hell of a nice guy as well. RIP Leslie.

From Airplane:

Captain when will we land?
I couldn't tell you.
You can tell me everything. I'm a doctor.
No, I mean I'm not sure when we will land.
OK then. Take a guess.
Not another 2-3 hours.
You can't take a guess for another 2-3 hours?!

LOLLL!

I was reading his biography (didn't know he was Canadian), and it dawned on me as how many Canadian comedy actors we have in Hollywood. Mike Myers, Jim Carrie, Michael J. Fox, John Candy, Martin Short, Dan Akroyd to just name a few.

I heard in the rumor mill that our own AR comedian, GMichael, secretly wants to be a Canadian.

Story goes that he likes to dress up as a Mountie for his weekend 'capades.

Don't forget Howie Mandel, Tommy Chong, Dave Foley, Phil Hartman, Eugene Levy, Norm MacDonald and Lorne Michaels.

Canadians love to laugh.

speaking of mounties - Leslie Nielson had a good role in the show Due South. He and Paul Gross were good friends. Due South is a hugely underrated television show - one of the few Canadian shows that I have ever liked.
