He's got an amazing voice and a magnificent flair for showmanship. He must spend a fortune on costumes and makeup.

I like the gravity dudes the best.

That lil 10 year old opera girl will give Poppy a run for his money.

I agree that she's outstanding. But I just don't see her as a Vegas act. She bores me. Poppycock entertains me.

The gravity guys are fantastic too, but the black light thing has been done before...and I've seen it done better.

I was in a Jamaican resturaunt last night gettin' some post concert grub and AGT was on the tube. I hate these shows, I despise American Kareoke and all it stands for. I saw this group and said hmmm, saw the gravity guys and said WTF, saw the blonde kid that obviously swallowed Lyontine Price and said, "game over, da fix is in".

Nobody's beatin' little miss pigtail and as a disinterested observer, don't say I didn't warn ya.

I agree. The others aren't even in the same class as that little girl.
And I think that Prince Poppycock named himself perfectly. He's entertaining in the way that a train wreck is entertaining.

My prediction for top four...

Prince Poppycock
Little opera freak
Gravity Dudes
And then I'm fence sitting between the magician and the bike stunt guy.

The bike guy is very unique but will he sell tickets in Vegas? The Magician is excellent, but great magicians are a dime a dozen in Vegas.

For winner, I'd like to see Poppycock win, but the little opera freak has a good shot at it too.

Who picks the ultimate winner, America or the judges?

I think these shows are pretty much a predetermined outcome.

as far as opera girl - talented or not, she's singing opera. If I haven't cared to listen to the greatest adult opera singers in the world, am I now supposed to care cuz a kid does it? Tracy Lords did more for porn as a 14yr old in this country than this little girl will for opera. She may as well be great at soccer too.

see how i am?

I had forgotten about that singer when I made that post. Had I thought of him, I would have included him over the bike and magician and would have nailed the top four.

As for who will win, any one of the remaining four deserve it. All are very talented. But my heart is still with Poppycock. A truly unique and creative individual.

A 10-yr-old opera singer is not a Vegas act, IMO. She has an amazing voice but is only getting this amount of attention because of her age. Age is fleeting. She should milk it for all she can now, in case her voice changes with puberty, but she should stay in school.

The singer has a wonderful voice and maybe a really great singing career ahead of him. But good singers are a dime a dozen. A singer won last year. What happened to him? I never heard about him again.

The Gravity act is really good, but could you handle a 90 minute show around it? When I compare them to other black light acts (Famous People Players comes to mind), their schtick is limited to what you can do with three guys in white standing in the same place. They'll need to really expand their range of motion to create something that keeps people entertained for more than a few minutes.

And then there is Prince Poppycock. Truly unique, with a great voice that can cover several different genres. Costume and set changes that make each act look, sound and feel different. I realize that he may not be everybody's cup of tea, but of the four acts that remain, he's the only one that I could see myself paying to see.

Unfortunately, I can't vote. :incazzato:

This is my first year watching so I have no clue about previous winners. I like Grimm and would give his album a try if he came out with one.

Fighting Gravity would definitely need to change things up but I think it would be a great show to see if done right. I haven't seen any other black light acts so I have nothing to compare them to. I would pay to see them.

Poppy and that lil girl have both got on my nerve already. Her show has pretty much been the same but people are gonna vote for her. she has an amazing voice and she's cute. Poppy is just weird....lol

I love the little girl singing a lot, but I would not pay to see her in a Vegas show. Prince Poppycock on the other hand is unique and interesting, and is one a producer can build a Vegas show around. Gravity dudes are also very interesting, and combined with Prince Poppycock could make quite an interesting and entertaining Vegas show.

If I were a Vegas show producer, I would be counting my money on Prince Poppycock...this dude is amazing!

Should be interesting to see who wins.

If it's Poppycock, I wonder if Sir T will be putting up a huge poster in his theater room :ciappa:

Maybe not a poster, but I would sure pay to see his show in Vegas, that is for sure.

Oh and by the way...RUN(as Sir T chases LJ around the room threatening to drown him in the water cooler).

I don't think he went down in flames as much as having technical issues(and a network that would not allow his original vision) that threw him off his game. No matter what, he has already won. This guy is going to get signed to do his shows somewhere, that is certain. He got a huge standing ovation, and that is a rubber stamp on this man's entertainment value and sense of creativity.

I agree. He'll end up in Vegas and probably better off if he doesn't win. As a winner, he'll be a puppet under the thumb of the AGT contract. If he doesn't win, he'll tour with the Top 10 show for a year and then end up at Caeser's Palace with a nice fat contract. :)

I also think that the judges shouldn't be allowed to buzz an act at this stage of the game. They no longer have control of who stays or goes and, therefore, shouldn't be allowed to add such a huge distraction to the performance. It not only distracts the artist with the possiblity of throwing them off their game, but it distracts the audience. I was enjoying the performance and really didn't need for it to be disrupted with that annoying buzzing sound.

I wouldn't be sorry to see MIcheal Grimm win either. Although I did place my votes for Poppycock, having just learned that they opened up the voting to Canadians this year (I wish I'd known that sooner!).

Well it wasn't Poppycock, but at least it wasn't the Stepford child.

What have we learned from this? America loves down on their luck singers. Last year it was chicken catcher Kevin Skinner and this year Katrina survivor Micheal Grimm.

Kevin Skinner...

Micheal Grimm in da house!

His last performance was excellent. I was surprised "america" didn't put the lil girl through but he deserved it.

I guess in the end all of this does not matter much. Michael Grimm may have won the competition, but is a Vegas producer really going to put of the money for his kind of act, which is a dime a dozen in Vegas? That is the question. He will certainly get a recording contract from one of the major record companies, but I don't think many will pay to see his act in Vegas.

Poppycock is definitely Vegas bound IMO, and if not there, someplace else as big as Vegas. He has the theatrics, the presence, the voice, the creativity and vision to put on a show worthy of a Vegas entertainment house. Within his singing genre, he has shown quite a bit of range - but has also shown he can design a high impact show, and I would dare to say -either with him at the center, or around a nice size cast of actors, singers and dancers. He has an excellent eye for creative set design(so there is no need to hire a set designer for his shows), and has shown an profound ability to properly stage his shows as well.

Good luck to Michael Grimm. With the current condition of the music industry, he has a pretty hard road to go. Talent can take you far, but a crumbling industry with no clear direction can sure stunt your ability to grow within the industry. I hope he has the vision to hire to best agent and producers money can buy, because he will need it to stay on top of the music industry.
