I have a Casio PT-1 simple keyboard which has a power adaptor of 6V and only a jack headphone output. Is it possible to get a cable to output to USB into my PC - Windows XP SP3 - such as ElectroFarm LTD USB 2.0 Charger & Music Cable for Apple iPod Shuffle?
It's a real newbie question but hope you can help. Thanks.

You would need to get an adapter to split it to rca jacks and then you can buy and rca to usb converter.
Is the headphone jack a standard jack or a 3.5mm like this-

and then something like this-

It's a 3.5 standard jack. I have so many cables I can't believe I don't have one that will do. What about jack to jack for line-in or jack to phono with jack adapter to line-in? Do I definitely need this rca splitter?
Would this play through my software Total Recorder Professional?
Would I need something else to make it a midi controller with some open source midi software?
Thanks.

You may get more answers if you post these questions in a forum that's frequented more by musicians than people into audio. They would most likely be more into the nuts and bolts of music production than music reproduction. ...big difference.
