I've been spinning McCain's Messenger this week and rediscovering what a fine album this is. Great melodies and song writing. I just love some of his lyrics. I really need to explore some of his other disks.

With so many lovers of the singer-songwriter genre here, I'm surprised that he doesn't get more mention here.

never heard of him. I'll look him up on MySpace when I get home

You've probably heard a couple of songs and don't know that it's him. He had a couple of hits a few years ago. Don't hold it against him though. He's very talented IMO.

Wow! I just realized that Messenger was released in 1999. Time flies...

I'll check a few older comps then. An old RR member called Allears did a few comps in the singer/songwriter vein.

If you go to the discography page (http://www.edwin.com/discography.html
) on his web site, you can click on a music player and stream a bunch of his stuff...some old, some new.

He never seemed to get a lot of love around here so I'm not sure how much you'll find on comps.

I agree with you Swish, but there are so many other great songs that never made it to radio.

This is one of my favourites. Makes me tear up almost every time.
