yeah upgraded with LED lights but I didn't do the upgrade. I gave it to a friend and he did ti for me since he knows how to do it. It looks so nice at the dark and even better than on the picture!

Regarding the tone controls it depends on what kind of music I am listening to. i adjust them often!

I was thinking about replacing the lights on mine with LED. Mine are faded out at the meters and not all that bright in the tuning dial.

I listen to mine with the tone mode set to "out" almost all the time.

I have 2230 with the original lights and they are exactly the same like yours! I see they sell LED bulbs on ebay for them so you can get them from there!

Very nice! I've always loved the look and sound of that receiver. My college roommate had that receiver with a nice pair of Marantz speakers. It's what got me started in Hi Fi.

This is Beautiful! I seen the same model on Ebay and it did not stick around long, Its still very much wanted. When I moved in with my Girlfriend eighteen years ago(wow!) she had a Marantz 2230a. If I remember right, I was impress; it had that warm sound and plenty of power. I love that gyro dial to turn the radio, had a nice feel to it. I started to build around it. I end up using it as front end for the Stereo front speaker part of the Hometheater. Came in handy when I was playing just stereo music. Brings back memories, eventually I'm going buy one to add back to my collection. Keep up this Great Hobby!
