How to wire a 3.5 mm stereo plug

Hello,
Recently the plug to one of my headphones has broken off and I want to put it back on. I have a replacement 3.5 mm stereo plug, but I'm not sure which wire if the left speaker, right speaker or negative. Can you help

If you perform a quick google search for 3.5mm stereo pinout, you'll see:

The tip is left channel.
The middle ring is the right channel.
The largest section at the base is the common, or signal ground.
