need some friendly advise...

Hi all,

i have a BUNCH of stuff but do not know what to use.
Here is what I have currently running.

1 pioneer vsx-5600 recvr.
1 magnavox 55" tv
1 hughes sat dvr tivo recvr.
1 pioneer dv-260 dvd plyr
1 pair tall audiophile speakers
1 dcm 75 watt centre speaker
1 pair audio research bracket mounted triangle speakers.


now this is what i just aquired and need some direction on...which to use and such.

1 pair BandW nautalis n803's with MITerminator4 cables
1 pair of Mirage OM7's with MIT MH75-he cables
2 Velodyne VA1210 subwoofers
1 Mirage PSI290 subwoofer
1 PSB subsonic II subwoofer
1 JBL PSW-1000 subwoofer
1 pioneer elite pd-75 cd player
1 nakamichi mb10 5 cd player
1 audio-vault 350 cd changer with server and software.
1 sansui digital analog processor da-cx607i
1 DBX power amp bx3
1 Carver premiere THX 5 channel power amp
1 BSR eq14/14xr computerized 14 band 5 memory eq-spectrum analyzer

I desperatly need some direction in which components I should use as my home theatre.
I am also fixing to order a projector and screen kit from htmarket.com one of the packages.

I'm honestly not too familiar with either speakers, but I don't see why you couldn't use one for the front mains and one for the rear surrounds. Just make sure the receiver/amp you're using will not overpower, or underpower, the rear speakers.

Depending on your gear, you could hook up a subwoofer too. I don't know about multiple ones, however. For that matter...why would you want to run 5 subwoofers at once? That's just overkill. And trust me...of all people, I'm probably among the most least likely on this site to use the term overkill. haha

I'm afraid that in order for us to help you, we're going to have to know exactly what you have. So yeah...that list you speak of...we're gonna need that...

Boy, pawnguy, that's quite a list!

I'm no expert but I'll tell ya :) :

You've got your work cut out for you. I'd try both speakers (both thought well of, apparently) and use the ones you like. They are very different types of speakers. You could even try them with different amps (I sure would!).

Ditto for the subs. For HT I'd be tempted, very tempted, to go over the top with them. Heck, if it ends up sounding bad you can always cange your setup.

Is the Sansui a DD/DTS processor? If so I'd think hard about that Carver amp. If the Sansui isn't, and your Pioneer doesn't have preouts, think about selling some stuff & buying one that does, or a seperate processor. I don't know a thing about the DBX. The cd players don't seem nec. for HT.

Really, it all comes down to you fooling around with the stuff. I'd be in heaven!!
