... or so says Paste magazine:

There are about 3 or 4 listed there that sound rather intriguing to me.

I used to buy Paste mag all the time, then subscribed. It took me years, YEARS to realize they never wrote (or included songs on the CD) about bands that I actually liked.

Paste has sucky taste. I'll stick to my Spin and Hammer mags.

You want to read a really good mag w/ a free CD? Try Mojo. (http://www.mojo4music.com/blog/)

Edit: Altho this review got me. Maybe it's the beer reference. :D

The Whigs – In the Dark [ATO – March 16]
Review (7.7/10) excerpt from Paste‘s March issue: "The band’s sound has become deeper, richer, more complex: suddenly they’re serving up a pint of porter after a few rounds of Pabst." Jeff Leven

Paste does have some stuff I like, but too much bland singer/songwriter crap, and they seem to like everybody. I recall Joseph Arthur busting on them for being so soft on him and others. It was kind of humorous, but spot on.

No, not that Miles. He's dead you know. I'm talking about Miles Kurosky, former front man of Beulah. I'll be buying that one fur shur.

Years? Really? Dang, you gave them a whole lot of benefit o' the doubt. I don't subscribe to them or any other music rag at present, but I stumbled on this online article somewhere and thought it might be notable.

I put a Whigs song in the leadoff spot of my YEC a couple years back. "Right Hand On My Heart", I think it was. Rockin' tune, fur sure.
