get on everyone's list of best speakers under $2k?
I'm tempted to sell my RS6 and get some. What is spurring my interest is putting together a list of good speakers under $2K for a post on AudioREVIEW.
What would you all recommend?

Good idea they already have a under 1000 dollar list so the next logical step would be a under 2000 dollar list. Which is a very good price point to start to get the next level of performance in a higher end speaker

oh yeah my input for the list would be the Usher x-718. And the Madisound Revelator tower speaker is also a great high end speaker for the under 2000 dollar point.

Adam, Salk speakers would be a great match for your equipment. Salk speakers have a special magical synergy with Van Alstine equipment. Salk and Van Alstine always pair their equipment together at the Audio Shows. Give Frank VA a call and talk to him and see what he thinks about the Towers and your gear. He has a pair of the $8000 Salk Veracity HTR3's in his home which are awesome with his gear. He may have a pair of the towers on his upper lever in his home. I'm sure he would be more than happy to talk to you or just send him an email.
How about the new Magnepan 1.7's?

Thanks for the input folks -
Yep BR, the 1.7 are on the list. Was going to put the 1.6 since they are also a fave for a lot of reviewers, but since they are now out....
Also. I have to say, I've really been using the Jeff Rowland 102 S I've got in for review a lot more than the OmegaStar250EX. The AVA sounds thick, rich, slow and dark compared to the JRDG 102 S. Also, I might have to... ah humm... well, maybe have to buy the 102 S, but we'll see. Can't say much more than that.
I would be interested in demoing the Song Towers in my pad though. I'm sure they would sound great, just which amp would they sound better with? The AVA is mine, and if they sounded better with the OmegaStar than then JRDG does with the RS6 speakers, well great.
Again, thank for the input guys.

Adam, I believe that the Van Alstine SS amps do have a slightly darker sound and also sound less solid state. Thats the Van Alstine sound. His tube stuff has a lot more air and transparency.
