To all my friends here and beyond,
A very Merry Christmas and very good cheer;
Not only this season, but all through the coming year.
And, as you sit with your family and loved ones ‘round the table and hearth,
May the spirit of goodness and joy fill all your hearts!
True, though the months wend,
On their courses through the heavens above,
Let us not forget the blessings of true peace, and warmth and love:
And though we may forget to thank The Maker who created all things below,
Let us now not forget all those precious things that cost nothing to bestow.
Then let us take stock of our fortune
Even as we regard those whose fortunes are few
Let us share of our glasses and bowls with those souls and rekindle their fires anew.
Let us bring, then, heart and courage to those whose own spirit is spent,
As we recall the spirit that glows in our own selves, safe and content.
This season I think of and am fond of you all
I am glad to know you and be known by you, my brothers and sisters and friends.
If but to know that we all live and are warmed by that spirit the Maker sends.
These days, I will count among my blessings, for truly my wants and needs are few.
To you all, I lift my glass and send my wish of peace to each and to every one of you.
