After a half hour of downloading this file, when I try to open it I get a message that says,

There is no default application specified to open the document "2009yearender.rar".

What's rar? Why can't I open this? HELP!

FA, you need to download the program WINRAR to open this file. It needs to be uncompressed, like a zip file would.

Sorry, FA, didn't know you don't speak rar.

http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html

It's easy to use.

Thanks guys. Just heading to bed now, but I'll try it tomorrow night.

Will this work on a Mac?

Thanks, tentoze. I finally got around to giving this some listens. I enjoyed the glimpse into what's going on in the country world and really enjoyed a lot of the first half of the tracks, especially #2-6. Started to lose focus through 7-9, and came back for 10-13. #14 kind of killed it for me. I just couldn't make myself listen through it. Some of the stand out tracks for me were Davey Brown, Halfway to Jackson, and Whip-poor-will. Not sure I see a pattern in my selections. I think after the #14 stopper, the only one that called to me was the Howling at the Moon track, reminded me of Tom Waits, and I always like Tom.

thanks again

I finally got this unrared and onto my iPod. This is a great comp! Everything on here is new to me. I am really enjoying it and there are a few songs on here that will lead me into further investigation. I can't name specifics yet because its been playing while I 'm working and I haven't been able to take note of song title and artist. But there's a lot on here that I like.

Yeah, I'm not good with the specifics, but I did let it roll in the background at work yesterday and was enjoying it enough that I just kept letting it repeat. Gotta listen sometime while looking at the track list.
