...it changes in every post you've ever made? Seems like if you update your stuff, the older posts should stay the same. Would be more entertaining this way- to see all the changes we've made as we go along.

Can't answer 'why,' but that just seems to be the way it is. I've seen this on other boards, too. One guy found a gif of descending symbols in green on black ala the Matrix & placed his name on top of that & then all of a sudden it was in every post he'd ever written.

To save space -- they don't actually store anything but the subject and the text of your post with the thread (along with the usual administrative BS -- pointers, etc.) -- everything else about you is stored in a record about you (sig, avatar, etc.).
