Please recommend the top 3 noise cancelling headphones on the market. I would like to spend 100-300 and I am looking for performance not style. Thanks all, I look forward to reading your suggestions...the chubby one...

Saw Poppachubby a few times here in Albany. Good band. Well I hate to say it but Bose has just upgraded their VERY popular noise cancelling cans. Give em try. Too expensive for me. Look at what Sennheiser, Grado and Koss have to offer, probably just as good and cheaper.

Thanks for your reply Worf. Those brands are all great and under my radar. Have you got any knowledge on a specific model though? I am going to check out Grado right now, I didn't know they made noise cancelling...

Cheers Worf!!! I'm leaning on JVC, they seem to be the best performance/value set...

I own the Sennheiser PXC 450 and the Etymotic ER4-P (IEM). I fly cross country twice a month. IMO the Sennheisers SQ vs other ANC headphones I have tried i.e. Bose, doesn't sound as muddy with improved music seperation and slightly improved treble extension. As far as the ANC function between the Senn's and the Bose I couldn't discern a clear winner. Finally I also own the Etymotic ER4-P and they provide the best noise isolation of ANY phone I've owned or audtioned, albeit IEM's just aren't some folks cup of tea. Hope this helps!

Man, I could have used your input a week or so ago 2left. Thanks so much! However, I have already bought a pair of JVC HA NC250. They are burned in and ready to go. I don;t wear IEM;s either. I wish I could, they are so effiecient now, but I am unable toi wear them comfortably. Also, I don't fly, I only need the cancellation for street use which is a little more forgiving than a Boeing engine. Glad to see a fellow headphone junkie on here...
